About Us
Welcome to Ashford Kip McGrath.
We are conveniently located in the town centre opposite Argos.
The Ashford Centre opened in September 2004 and has helped many children in Ashford and the surrounding areas. Our spacious centre is designed to create a friendly and stimulating environment where dedicated, qualified and experienced teachers get the best out of your children in English and Mathematics. Your child will be given all the benefits of active teaching, not just parked in front of a computer or endless worksheets. Learning at Kip McGrath is VARIED and FUN!
The Directors:
Sally Fisher - Sally's successful secondary school career has involved roles as an Assistant Head Teacher and she was appointed one of Kent's first Advanced Skills Teachers. Sally has also been a co author on a book on how best to use assessment in improving pupils work and attitudes to their own learning.
Simon Fisher - Simon started out as a PE teacher before moving into teaching Maths up to GCSE level. He worked increasingly within a specialised field of teaching Maths to Dyslexic pupils and has great experience of making a complex subject sound easy and straightforward.
With a combined 25+ years experience of teaching and a HUGE passion for the job we have established an excellent reputation for high quality tutoring and improved test results in Ashford. At the same time we never forget the importance of nurturing your child's confidence and self esteem through the learning process.
Our teachers are all fully qualified and suitably experienced teachers who have been trained in the use of our extensive range of teaching materials.Our collective experience ranges from the Early Years curriculum up to GCSE. If we were not happy for a teacher to tutor our own children then we would not employ them. A simple rule that has ensured excellent staff. And here they are!
What We Do
Your first visit will probably be for a FREE educational assessment.Don't panic - this is a friendly, relaxed meeting giving you the opportunity to see our centre in operation. At the end of the 40 minute process, we will provide a thorough, professional and honest appraisal of your child's needs and academic potential.
If we feel we can help your child and you like what you see, we will design an individual learning programme of study based on 80 minute sessions that include a full range of different challenges. Tuition is given in small groups of no more than 5 which allows for one to one help whilst also developing independent learning.
We offer tuition across the 5- 16 age range in English and Maths including, SATs, 11+ preparation and GCSE. If your child is struggling with reading, writing, spelling or mathematics at any level or you just feel they could be stretched a little more, Kip McGrath offers you a professional , tried and tested solution which has been helping children just like yours across the world for over 25 years!
