Background

At Kip McGrath Bedford we always aim to create a positive, relaxed and professional learning environment where children of all ages feel welcome and confortable to learn. We have been tutoring in Bedfordshire for the last 6 years and have had hundreds of students come through our doors. We have seen excellent results from our students in SATs, GCSEs and private school entrance exams as well as success academically in both Maths and English.

The Kip McGrath Bedford Staff

Teresa Redfern (BEd Hons) is the centre director for the KipMcGrath Bedford centres. Teresa has been teaching for 15 years and has won awards for her business initiatives such as the Bedfordshire Business (Franchise) woman of the year award in 2008 for running both centres. As well as being centre director Teresa is also the Franchise Support Manager for the UK and Republic of Ireland and continues to work alongside UK head office in this role.

Teresa has a large staff of 17 Tutors and administrators working alongside her in her centres. All of the tutors are qualified teachers and continue to form great relationships with all students and parents.

The Centre

Situated in the small town of Kempston just south of Bedford, the centre is conveniently situated on the main Bedford road on the junction with Bunyan Road.

There is a parking area just outside the centre and parents can drop off and pick up easily, or they are welcome to stay in our large, comfotable reception area where they can browse through a magazine and enjoy a cup of coffee. The centre has two teaching rooms and has a friendly, bright and welcoming feel, which encourages all our students to feel relaxed, motivated and ready to learn!

What We Do

At Kip McGrath we provide professional tuition in maths and english for children aged 6-16 with a spectrum of abilities. We also help children who are working towards specific exams such as SATs or GCEs. Lessons take place after school and at weekends and children are taught on a one to one basis within a small group (up to 5).

We will carry out a free assessment to find out where any difficulties lie and advise you how we can help. This is achieved through implementing a tailored learning programme suited to the student's individual needs, using computer and cassette based programmes, integrated with structured worksheets and workbooks.

Following enrolment each student attends the centre once a week for 80 minutes, and follows their own individual programme. We aim to provide a relaxed, friendly and motivating learning environment where children feel comfortable and happy. Progress is carefully monitored and students are regularly re-assessed. Each child learns at their own pace and our aim is to give them the confidence they need to make real progress and achieve their full potential.

Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays:  4.30pm - 5.50pm, 6pm - 7.20pm 

Tuedays and Wednesdays: 4.30pm - 5.50pm, 6pm - 7.20pm and 7.30pm - 8.50pm (For older students)

Sat : 9.15am - 10.35am, 10.45am - 12.05pm  and 12.30pm - 1.50pm

DIRECTIONS TO THE BEDFORD SOUTH CENTRE

From Bedford town centre:

Follow the main Bedford Rd through Kempston until you reach the junction with Bunyan Rd. Just as you come to the junction you will need to get into the right hand lane. You can then see the centre on the right hand side of the road just before the Hyundai garage. You can pull in and park in the small car park outside the building.

From the Bedford Bypass

Follow the signs towards Kempston town centre until you reach Bunyan Rd. At the top of the road get into the right hand lane. You will see the centre on the opposite side of the road just to the right of the Hyundai garage. Turn right and then immediately left into the car park situated just outside the centre.
