About Us
Kip McGrath is an international company, which offers professional tuition in English, Mathematics, Reading and Spelling. With over four hundred centres world wide, Kip McGrath has been helping children improve their skills and self esteem for more than twenty-five years.
The directors of the Kip McGrath Education Centre in Derby, are David and Helen Turnbull. Both hold Post Graduate Certificates in Education, and are highly experienced professionals. David was until recently, a senior pastoral manager at local secondary school. Helen taught for eight years in a local school before working full time at Kip McGrath. Together they bring a wealth of knowledge and teaching skill to this Derby Centre.
What We Do
We provide professional tuition in Mathematics, English, Reading and Spelling for children aged 6 – 16. We cater for a wide range of abilities, appreciating that some children need extending whilst others need help and support to achieve their potential.
An initial free assessment helps us to form an individual learning programme which focuses on a child’s particular needs. These programmes use unique resources including computer activities, written worksheets, workbooks and audiocassettes / MP3s.
Children’s individual learning programmes are delivered on a weekly basis in 80-minute sessions in small groups of 3-5. Sessions take place on weekdays after school hours. Each child learns at their own pace, developing an enthusiasm for success in a fun and friendly environment.
